It is time for Peeling! And I don’t mean chemical peeling.

I know that most, if not all of you, try your best to take care of your skin using day creams, night creams, eye creams, and even the occasional mask and serum or ampoules. How many of you though, take the time to include in your skin care routine the necessary peeling that should be done once a week.

Why is Peeling/Scrubbing important?

It helps our constant struggle against aging. Now this should be a good enough reason to include it in our skin care routine.

Scrubbing removes dead skin cells so that your skin can “breath” . In addition, the process of scrubbing stimulates the blood and lymph flow which has a direct effect on cell regeneration.

Imagine how much more effective the various creams and masks you use on your skin would be, if you skin is clean of all the dead skin cells, and thus able to absorb better and faster those nourishing cream preparations you present it with.

When to use scrub or peeling?

Choose one night of the week to include scrubbing in your skin care routine. Scrubbing/peeling always follows a good cleansing of the face with the appropriate cleansing milk and tonic lotion.

I always advice my clients, that peeling should ALWAYS be followed by the appropriate mask. In fact I would go a step further and recommend that before you apply the mask you use either a serum or an ampoule. The result will be SO much better, I guarantee it.

Once you remove the mask (usually 15 or 20 minutes) proceed with placing your regular night cream.

What do I recommend?

There are 4 products that I will present you with, that I have personally tried and recommend to my clients.

The Lady Esther Peeling Cream is an extremely mild, delicate peeling suitable even for the most sensitive skins. Peeling Cream provides intensive cleansing, loosening excessive sebum and dead skin cells, and clears up blackheads. It contains no abrasive particles as with other peelings and as such it is suitable for skins with acne, and for extremely dry, or leathery skin.

Main Ingredients: betain lactate, steric acid, allantoin

Application: Apply Peeling Cream to cleansed skin, avoiding the eye area. Let Peeling Cream dry, then massage gently with fingertips, while stretching the skin. Rinse off with lukewarm water. According to skin needs, apply once or twice a week. In case of delicate skin, do not massage the Peeling Cream, but instead rinse it off with lukewarm water only.

This peeling contains ground apricot cores which are very effective in removing dead skin cells and flaky skin without irritating the skin. It can also be used by all skin types except in cases of skins with acne.

Application: Once the face is cleaned with the appropriate cleanser, apply Apricot Pelling and massage. The gentle massage stimulates blood circulation and makes the skin more absorbent for other skin care. Wash off with lukewarm water and proceed with a suitable mask.

The honey peeling is also suitable for all skin types and it is based on milk and honey with the addition of micro-particles that are loaded with Jojoba oil. The micro-particles help remove dead skin cells, while the extracts of milk and honey nourish and protect the skin by providing the necessary hydration.

Use: Apply with gentle circular movements until the small jojoba particles dissolve. Then clean any residues with lukewarm water.

This is again a creamy peeling with excellent exfoliating action, and suitable for all skin types.

Peeling Illuminator, as the name implies, not only effectively removes dead skin cells, but at the same time it restores the skin’s natural, glow due to the high concentration of vitamin C it contains.

Application: Apply the peeling using gentle circular motions. Remove with lukewarm water.

For all peeling products, the application time should be at least 1-2 minutes. Remember, massaging gently on all areas, and even the neck and decolette.

So there you have it.  Please do not hesitate to send your comments and questions I look forward to receiving them.

Until the next post….Be Beautiful!
